Alcoholics Anonymous
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
Women for Sobriety
Women for Sobriety is a self-help program for women with substance abuse problems. It is the first and only self-help program for women. Its precepts take into account the very special problems women have in recovery, the need for feelings of self-value and self-worth, and the need to discuss feelings of guilt and humiliation.
Cocaine Anonymous

An independent, twelve-step, self-help organization for people with a dual diagnosis of chemically dependence and an emotional or psychiatric illness. Addresses how both illnesses affect all areas of life.
Smart Recovery
SMART Recovery is a national, nonprofit, abstinence-based program offering free self-help groups for recovery from addictive behavior. SMART is not a 12-step program. It is based on cognitive-behavioral methods, particularly Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). We think that a person’s religious or spiritual convictions are a personal matter that can be helpful, but are not a part of the SMART program. SMART teaches people practical, proven self-management and recovery skills.
Rational Recovery
Rational Recovery, founded in 1986 by Jack and Lois Trimpey, is an abstinence-based approach to recovery that uses the Addictive Voice Recognition Technique (AVRT).
Secular Organizations for Sobriety (Save Our Selves/SOS)
SOS is an alternative recovery method for those alcoholics or drug addicts who are uncomfortable with the spiritual content of widely available 12-Step programs.
