You’re invited to join The Alcohol and Drug Council of North Carolina’s 47^th Outer Banks Conference on Wednesday, September 29 and Thursday, September 30 at the Clam Digger Inn at Atlantic Beach, NC. You will have the opportunity to explore important questions, learn about cutting edge research, advocate for change and share powerful new perspectives gaining from your experiences.

This year it is our pleasure to announce that Robert Lindsey, President and CEO of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (NCADD) will be one of our keynote conference leaders. Along with Mr. Lindsey, we are delighted that Dr. Fulton Crews, Director of the Bowles Center for Alcohol Studies at UNC-CH is returning.  Anne Doolen, Executive Director of ADCNC will facilitate the conference.

As a professional in the field of MH/DD/SA services, you know that the addictions field is in the midst of many changes.  In addition to addressing the latest research findings, the conference will pay special attention to the Affordable Care Act and how it affects prevention, treatment and recovery services. State budget cuts have affected every area of our service system. LMEs, providers and consumers are trying to determine what services can and will be provided. This year’s conference will offer attendees trainings and information regarding upcoming changes, addressing both national and state level issues. This conference will help prepare you for the latest developments in the addictions field.

Application has been made to the NCSAPP for 12 hours of Substance Abuse Specific Skills Building credit.
