<p>Our Reserve and National Guard men and women have served this country with honor in the Global War on Terror in Afghanistan and Iraq. The needs of these Service members and their families have never been more pressing.</p>
<p>A significant number of these citizens have returned and are returning from their service with hidden scars which they must address without the benefits of the services and support provided to the Active component members on a military installation. These Veterans often must come to grips with the effects of such conditions as depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), substance abuse, marital problems, unemployment, underemployment, homelessness, incarceration, and sometimes, even suicide.</p>

<p>Every day service members make appointments at primary care offices for post-deployment related illness or injury. Although it is often presumed that Department of Defense/Department of Veterans Affairs medical care continuum will treat many service members, only about 50% of the people qualified for DOD/VA benefits will seek assistance from the VA.
