ADCNC Grant Writing Seminars

Jul 17th, 2009 • Category: Events, Flash Alert

The ADCNC will be sponsoring a grant writing seminar this year. The seminar will meet the 1st Tuesday of each month. The first seminar will be held August 4th and continue until June. The seminars will emphasis the development of projects that support Recovery Oriented Systems of Care for the spectrum of addictive disorders.

By the end of the seminars the participants will have developed a master grant from which they will be able to conveniently apply for a federal, state, local and foundation grants. They will also learn strategies for increasing the percentage of grants funded. Specifically they will:

  1. Develop a review of the pertinent literature and research.
  2. Identify best practices and methods for their target populations.
  3. Establish goals, objective and time lines.
  4. Develop line item budgets and budget narratives.
  5. Establish an evaluation strategy.
  6. Write three levels of grants ( $25,000, $100,000 and $500,000)
  7. Learn how to peer review each others grant applications.

The seminars will meet for 10:00 am until 4:00 PM at the ADCNC office in Durham. Participants should expect between 10 and 20 hours a month of “homework” between sessions. The cost is $150 (to cover supplies and lunches). We are limiting enrollment to 12 individuals. We have two slots for individuals who do not have portable computers with wireless Internet capability. If you wish to participate contact the ADCNC 1-800-688-4232 or Anne Doolen adoolen@aol.com for an enrollment form.
