The Matrix model has been refined over a twenty year period and has been adopted by SAMHSA as one of its Evidence Based Practices. The model is a manualized program that integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, contingency management, motivational interviewing, and other elements to give patients the skills and understanding they need to overcome addiction.
